An Evening with the Candidates 

Candidate for Portland Mayor Carmen Rubio, will be joining her friend and City Council candidate James Armstrong for an evening at Concordia's own local favorite bar, Wilder. Whether you know these candidates, or are just getting tuned in to the November elections, we welcome you to join us for this community event.

In a city grappling with numerous challenges, Carmen Rubio stands out as a commissioner who has consistently delivered results. She has spearheaded efforts to boost affordable housing production, secured funding for Portland Street Response, and guided economic development initiatives.

James Armstrong is a local small business owner, having co-founded Alberta Eye Care over a decade ago with his wife Dr. Laura Armstrong. He is also an advocate for our small business community, having led Alberta Main Street and helping to create a safety and livability committee for the St. Johns Boosters. he understands the importance of responsible city spending and, as a forensic accountant, has the expertise to analyze complex financial issues and investigate the misuse of public funds.
